We work to reduce educational inequalities and strengthen the cognitive, emotional, cultural, digital and social skills of children and young people, supporting their full and free development and enhancing their capacity to contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future.
Our origins
We are a philanthropic foundation and an instrumental body of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, based in Turin.
Our historical roots lie in the educational and welfare activities for younger generations that have been a hallmark of the Compagnia di San Paolo since its establishment in 1563.
The Foundation, in its current structure, was established in 2001.
Our commitment
Our work contributes to achieving the institutional goals of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo. We operate according to the principles of subsidiarity and solidarity, positioning ourselves as a point of reference for the civil, social and economic organisations engaged in renewing education systems across the country.
Our activities focus on three main areas: scientific research, training and experimentation.
Our values
We contribute to “ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all,” as stated in Goal 4 of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
We embrace the values and principles of development, sustainability, interdependence, solidarity, equity and equal dignity for every human being, as affirmed by the United Nations, the European Union and the Italian Constitution.
Our support for the educational community
We work to expand training and continuous professional development opportunities for the adults who play a key role in the educational community, with particular attention to school leadership and teaching staff. Our aim is to enable them to fulfil their educational and caregiving responsibilities with competence and accountability.
Our network
We collaborate with universities and research centres at national and international level to support school improvement and strengthen autonomy, especially in contexts facing greater challenges.
In line with the best European philanthropic traditions, we uphold the principles of independence, good governance, integrity, responsibility and transparency.
